A Kite Flying event was held to honor Netaji, leader of the Azad Hind Government, and the country. This event was also held to welcome Narendra Modi to the islands for the first time after becoming Prime Minister and FLY360 was called upon to celebrate this day with zeal and kites![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text=”Renaming Three Islands of Andaman and Nicobar” use_theme_fonts=”yes” font_container=”tag:h2|text_align:left|color:%23dd3333″ font_size=”0″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text font_size=”1″]The first Prime Minister of Azad Hind Government in 1943, Subhas Chandra Bose, had proposed to rename Andaman and Nicobar Islands to Shaheed and Swaraj Dweep on this very day. 75 years have passed and his wishes have finally been honoured. Prime Minister Modi, in Netaji stadium, renamed three of the most visited islands of Andaman and Nicobar.

Ross Island has been renamed to honour Subhas Chandra Bose and is now the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Dweep. And as per Netaji’s wishes, Neil Island and Havelock Island have been renamed to Shaheed Dweep and Swaraj Dweep, respectively. Arriving three days prior to the day of the event gave us enough time to prepare. In the three days building up to the celebration, trial runs of the kite flying show were carried out. The practice runs were in the flow of the itinerary of the whole event so as to discard the possibilities of any error.

Even though preparations for the event took up most of our time, we didn’t just go to the island and not enjoy the scenery. Whenever there was some free time in our hands, we were out to explore the breathtaking islands. However, many parts of the islands were closed due to security reasons. We realised the level of security when we spotted a few navy ships in the waters. It is due to such security reasons that we were unable to click pictures or shoot videos before and after the event. The network jammers were activated the whole time during our stay, which didn’t even allow us to make calls outside. There was Z security throughout the event (it was huge!) But all of the toils was worth it because the event turned out to be a massive success![/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_gallery type=”image_grid” images=”9020,9035,9036″][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text=”Day of the Event” use_theme_fonts=”yes” font_container=”tag:h2|text_align:left|color:%23dd3333″ font_size=”0″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text font_size=”1″]The event that welcomed Narendra Modi and celebrated the renaming of the three islands was a one-day event. The theme for all the kites, obviously, intended to highlight the tricolour flag of the nation and Netaji. 75 years ago, it was on this very land and this very day that Netaji presented Azad Hind Government as the country’s first ever independent government.

Among the normal kites that we had arranged for this theme, there were some specialised kites made by the best of our team solely for this event. There were 3D heart-shaped tricolour kites, a 100-pieced Indian flag train kite, tricolour delta kites, tricolour inflatable lifters, a 3D tricolour fish, and finally, Netaji’s portrait printed on a large delta-shaped kite.

It was a privilege that our team got the opportunity to bring together patriotism, and our passion for flying kites.  We were filled with pride to know that we were part of such a glorious event for the nation and were further joyed to be able to hoist the tricolour flag in some way![/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_gallery type=”image_grid” images=”9027,9019,9030,9021,9022,9023,9032,9031″][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text=”Kite Flying Show and Events” use_theme_fonts=”yes” font_container=”tag:h2|text_align:left|color:%23dd3333″ font_size=”0″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text font_size=”1″]Clearly, we know how to entertain a social gathering!
